It's amazing to compare Sofia to Linnea. Sofia has just learned to grab things, while Linnea is learning her letters, singing new songs and learning new words like crazy. Linnea has grown so much and delights and perplexes us every day. Linnea has been anticipating her birthday for months now. She still has over 2 months to go though. She's been saying, "2 months til my birthday" since the summer. My little sweetheart is a full-fledged toddler with tons of opinions and emotions, even more now that she's a big sister. She cries at the drop of a hat and quickly changes her mind about everything. She always wants to be first, which is how I get her to do things! "Oh, you don't want to go potty. That's okay, I'll go first." "NO! Mommy, I go first." She only wants to be called a big girl and is offended if you
say, "You're a funny girl, Linnea." She quickly repies, "No, I'm a big girl!" She can be very loving to Sofia. She will kiss her head, sing to her, make her laugh and entertain her when she starts to cry. However, Linnea doesn't have any patience for Sofia crying at night, which happens every night! First I'll hear Sofia start to stir and whine (please, please sleep) then I'll hear "NO, Sofia...NO, Sofia!" Then we let Linnea sleep in her sleeping bag in our room. Linnea has been having lots of tantrums which usually include teeth clenching, screaming and sometimes flopping on the floor. I have yet to figure out how to avoid these, but I'm planning to watch the video "Happiest Toddler on the Block" which is suppose to have great ideas. Lately, Linnea wants to know the reason for everything by asking me WHY all the time. I find it very annoying when we're in a hurry and she want to know why at this and that. And each answer I give gets another why, so it's a no win game!
Linnea Quotes:
(In reference to her cereal) She looked very upset and said, "It's too not much higher Mommy!"
We cancelled a playdate because of her cold. After eating her breakfast she declared, "My cold is gone!"
What you said?
Hey! Come band with me. (she was holding a drum and speaking to Eli)
During our conversations about the jobs we do at home, Nathan asked Linnea what her jobs were at home. I was hoping she'd say making her bed and cleaning up her toys. She replied, "To play all day."
