Linnea and I had a sweet couple hour shopping trip while Sofia was napping last weekend. It was fun to just have Linnea and give her lots of attention. We had finished our first 3 stops and finally got to Joann's, my favorite! I even got a parking spot, which never happens in Ballard's small location. When we finished picking out ribbon, buttons and glue to replenish my hair clip supplies we ran to the car since it was raining. I threw my bag and keys in the front seat then strapped Linnea in her booster seat. Shut the door and click goes the lock!!! How is that possible, I didn't lock it! My little girl in locked in I'm standing in the rain. OH NO is my first thought, 2nd thought is
look calm or Linnea is going to panic. "Okay honey, I need you to climb out of your seatbelt. You can do it sweetie. It's okay!" Luckily, Linnea was in the belted seat not her snapped in one. After coaxing her through the seatbelt escape I told her to climb in the front seat to unlock the door. Simple right? Well that's what took the longest. I tried every way I could think of to describe how the push the unlock button. She finally got it. Phew, that could have been way worse. Since my bag was in the car I had no phone to call for help and we only have one car key since I lost the other one. Thank you guardian angel for looking out for me that day. I really really appreciate it!
Moral of the story...never put the keys in the car if you aren't with them:)
I'm so proud of you sweetie! You were very brave.
