Today was one of those magical zoo days with the girls when everyone is happy, the animals were active and the weather cooperated. We even pulled out the sun hats! We started our zoo visit off at the penguins and were rewarded by active swimmers and some bird visitors including a duck pair and blue heron. We saw the orangatans playing peek-a-boo with burlap sacks in the outdoor area. At first we didn't know one was hiding, then it lifted up the sack to peek out. Linnea love that! We ate our picnic by the elephants and Sofia was actually pointing at them. She seemed really interested in the animals for the first time. My favorite part was the tour that Linnea gave me of Bug World. She pointed them out to me, made up names for the bugs and told me about them. It was so cute! I find it ironic that she can get excited about huge bigs like turantulas, cockroaches and beetles, but is afraid a little flies. Go figure!
