We're Finally Decorating

When Nathan and I got married we both thought the other person would decorate the house.  Neither of us has strong opinions of decor, so our house has mostly been lacking a finished look.  With Hailey as our interior decorater, we are finally getting some things on the walls and doing some great projects that I'm really excited about.  It all started when Nathan bought a new entertainment center for the TV, which meant we had to move all our furniture around.  That got the ball rolling.  Here is quick peek at some of what we've done so far and what I hope to do...

1. Hailey and I repainted the kitchen and living room with gorgeous yellow, light blue and dark blue.

2. I bought pretty frames and mats for family photos at an amazing sale at Aaron Brothers.  I am planning to do a stairway display.

3. Nathan was able convince me to get a Norweigen scenery mural for above the couch.  I love it!  Now we just need to think of a story to go with the little fishing town.

4. I did a family hand project and framed it.  I got the idea from Pinterest.com.

5. I've been admiring these quote decals for awhile and was so excited when I found this one.  Galatians 5:22 has been a very special and encouraging verse in my life and now it's going in our living room.  It was really hard to put up, but I managed to not mess it up.

6. I am going to paint these chairs a beautiful espresso color and pick new fabric color for the seats.  This time I'll scotch guard them because they get really dirty from the kids.  I considered restaining them, but after some research I realize that's way too hard for me and would take forever!
These chairs were my Grandma Dimmitts' and I remember sitting on them as a little girl.  We would have Christmas dinner at their condo in Edmonds including lutefisk, turkey and sweet potatoes.  They had a really fancy white froked Christmas tree with colored balls.  Sweet memories!
