Advent Begins and Christmas Tree

I have been so excited for Advent to begin.  For one thing, this is the first year that Linnea is old enough to understand more about what Christmas is.  And another thing is, I'm really looking forward to praying and growing closer to God this Advent.  I have done a little planning to get us started on a great Advent season.  Linnea and I made our own Advent Wreath candle holders using clear glass candle holders, tissue paper and mod podge.  We also picked out a beautiful wreath at Fred Meyer for a good price.  We were given Advent daily prayer books for families at church, that we started to use today.  It was really sweet to do this with Nathan and the girls.  We read the verse, reflection and prayer, then sang an advent song I learned at St. Matthew.  Linnea helped Nathan light the candle.  We also bought our tree this weekend and spent time putting up lights and ornaments.  Sofia is very intrigued by the tree.  I can see that I'll be moving her away from it all month!  Happy Advent!
