Busy July

Nathan has been dreaming of building a cabin at Puget Island his whole life.  It's finally here, and much earlier than most of us thought!  Back before Nathan started law school in 2008, he made a 2011 Plan.  It included taking a month off work to frame a house at Puget Island.  We all said "yeah, sure" but thought it would never happen.  So the whole Oines crew (Tom, Sylvia, Nathan, Luke, Bethany, Phil, Marj) and lots of friends (Nancy, Sara, David, Jenny, Sean, Lorelle, Steve, Trisha, Danny, Alison, Becky, Jens, Heidi, Wilson, Hailey) have helped frame the house.  It has been amazing watching everyone work to put up the house.  On hot days, they work until midday then take a swim break to cool off.  Sylvia has cooked up delicious food to keep the crew going.  Marj bought a neat used trailor that she will keep at Puget Island that has a little oven for us to use.

While everyone has been building, I've been doing my mom thing.  Luckily I've had Sylvia's help with Linnea.  I'm still spending a lot of time attending to Sofia, which can get boring for Linnea.  Linnea absolutely loves Puget Island.  She can run and play there.  Marj built her a little tire swing.  She and I take walks along West Sunny Sands road.  There are a number of farms on the island for us to animal watch.  Our favorite is the horse farm where they breed horses.  We got to see a 2 week colt, his mom and the dadd stallion. Wow, he was huge and very friendly.  Linnea most likes to watch the cows and calves and loves pointing them out and counting them.  Linnea has finally warmed up to getting in the water beyond her feet.  Now she'll drive in up to her neck.  The Columbia River is quite cold, but that doesn't stop her.  We usually have make her stop swimming because she's chattering and shivering away.  I heard that Nathan was like that as a kid.
